Noles Mount Epic Comeback To Capture 3rd National Title

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the Noles 34-31 victory over Auburn.

2014_FSUvsAuburn

After falling behind 21-3 in the first half, FSU went on a 31-10 run to capture their 3rd National Title in program history.  The thrilling comeback featured several plays that will never be forgotten by FSU fans: the fake punt, Kermit’s kickoff return, Rashad Greene’s 49 yard reception and Kelvin Benjamin’s game winning touchdown catch.

Those plays provided the style but the substance of the comeback was on both lines of scrimmage; Timmy Jernigan and Mario Edwards, Jr. controlling the line of scrimmage to neutralize Auburn’s second half running game along with FSU’s  offensive line doing a better job of blitz pickup allowed the offense to make just enough plays to secure the win.

We also discuss the juniors leaving early for the NFL draft and what impact it’ll have on the 2014 season.

2013_FSUvsDuke

It was an eventful week for the FSU football program to say the least:  the Jameis Winston investigation concluded with no charges filed, Jimbo Fisher received a contract extension with a raise and the Noles beat Duke to win another ACC Championship; all while punching their ticket to Pasadena to play Auburn for the National Title.

The spotlight on the program should continue this week as attention turns to the Heisman Trophy where Jameis Winston is the clear favorite.

Chop vs. Chomp: It’s Gators’ Week!

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc and Nolebra Kai recap the Noles victory over Idaho, preview Saturday’s game against Florida and discuss the impact of the senior class.

2013_FSUvsIdaho

It what could best described as a sloppy stat stuffer, FSU defeated Idaho 80-14.  The defense tallied 7 sacks, 4 interceptions and 2 touchdowns but there were still several missed tackles and blown assignments.

Offensively, there were missed blocks  and missed reads that had Jameis Winston taking more hits than he should have considering the opponent.  Despite the hits,  Jameis still threw 4 touchdowns and the offense accounted for 645 total yards.

Next up is a high noon showdown against the Florida Gators in the Swamp.  Despite being 4-7 and inept on offense, we expect this game to still be physical and closer than expected.

Noles Remain Perfect With Victory Over Syracuse

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the Seminoles’ 59-3 victory over Syracuse.

There was never a question of who the better team was or who would win the game; the question was would the team come out focused after a week of “clutter” surrounding Jameis Winston and the sexual assault investigation.  The answer was a resounding yes.  Jameis Winston completed his first 10 passes for 170 yards and a TD as FSU raced out to a 28-0 first quarter lead.

With lowly Idaho on the horizon, attention turns to the States Attorney’s office as FSU anxiously awaits a decision on whether or not they will charge Jameis Winston.  If charged with a felony, Winston will be automatically suspended per FSU bylaws.  That suspension will last until either the case is resolved or the charges are reduced to a misdemeanor offense.

Noles Clinch Atlantic Division With Victory Over Wake Forest

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc and Nolebra Kai recap the Seminoles’ 59-3 blowout victory over Wake Forest.

The FSU defense intercepted 6 passes, forced 7 turnovers total and scored 14 points.   Statistically, the Seminoles’ offense had a pedestrian day, only accounting for 296 total yards.  That’s not to say they struggled; but rather defensive touchdowns and short fields contributed to them never really getting into rhythm.

With the victory over the Demon Deacons, FSU clinched their 2nd straight ACC Atlantic Division title.  With Oregon’s loss to Stanford on Thursday night, FSU is firmly cemented as the second ranked team in the country and will play for the National Title if they win out.

Noles Dominate Miami; Win 4th Straight In Series

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the Noles 41-14 victory of Miami.

2013_FSUvsMiami

FSU had the better team, better coaching staff and home field advantage so there was no reason to expect the Hurricanes to win the game.  However, when it comes to FSU vs. Miami history tells us to expect the unexpected.  We didn’t expect Jameis Winston to throw two 1st half interceptions.  We didn’t expect Stephen Morris to throw two 1st half touchdowns.  We certainly didn’t expect the Noles to be leading by only 7 points at halftime.

Our expectations were realized during a stretch of the 3rd quarter where FSU ran 19 plays to Miami’s 1 and scored 14 points to push the lead to 35-21.

Devonta Freeman was undoubtedly the player of game.  He led the team in both rushing and receiving.  He also scored 3 total touchdowns.

It’s Hurricane Week!

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the Noles quick dismissal of NCState and preview this week’s showdown against Miami.

2013_FSUvsNCState

Shortly after Bobby Bowden planted the spear at midfield, the Seminoles proceeded to figuratively plant their cleats on the necks of the Wolfpack by scoring 35 first quarter points and quickly putting an end to all the trap game talk.

Next up for FSU is the Miami Hurricanes.  FSU is clearly the better team, but Miami has enough good players to pull the upset if the Seminoles don’t come out focused.

We’re also joined by Hurricane Alley host BG1906 to get a Canes perspective on Saturday’s showdown.
