FSU Makes It 6 Straight Over Miami

In this episode of the Renegade Report, Herc & guest co-host Andrew from Warpath Radio recap the Noles 29-24 win over Miami.

Led by Dalvin Cook’s 222 rushing yards and 3 total TDs, the FSU offense had its best and most balanced performance of the season. Everett Golson passed for 291 yards with 1TD and no interceptions. Despite the balance and success, the offense left plenty of points on the field that made the game closer than it should’ve been.

Defensively, Charles Kelly’s unit did a great job of shutting down the Hurricane’s rushing attack with the front 7 but Brad Kaaya did a great job of exploiting a glaring weakness in the Noles’ secondary that was created with Trey Marshall’s ejection for targeting. Similarly to 2014, the defense was able to overcome a bad statistical performance and come up with key stops when it mattered most in the game.

We also take a few minutes to enjoy the significance of winning 6 straight against your rival. What makes this especially sweet is Canes’ fans will argue that they either had the better team or should’ve won all 6 games.

2014 Fall Camp Is Here

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc. & Nolebra Kai discuss the latest developments within the Seminoles’ program.

Fall camp starts on Monday and if FSU is going to have a chance of repeating as National Champions, there are some questions that must be answered. This week we talk about filling the leadership void left by the departure of Telvin Smith, Bryan Stork, Lamarcus Joyner, Terrence Brooks and Timmy Jernigan.

We also discuss the defensive line and the need for some players to either step up or prepare to have their spot on the depth chart taken by younger players.

Josh Newberg from Noles247 also joined us to talk recruiting. With Kai Locksley and Deondre Franscois both committing on Thursday, FSU now has 3 QBs for the 2015 class; will Jimbo Fisher sign all three in February?

5 star defensive ends Josh Sweat and Bryant Cowart have both visited Tallahassee recently, does have FSU have a legit shot at landing their signature on National Signing Day?

2014 Spring Practice – Week 1 Recap

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the first week spring practice.

The first week of spring practice was uneventful and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  When you’re the National Champions, nothing is more welcomed than a low key spring where Jimbo Fisher can refocus the team to make a run at another title.

With that being said, there are still some developments that need to be discussed:

  • Dalvin Cook is out for spring practice with a torn labrum
  • Karlos Williams has been limited in practice though Jimbo insists that he isn’t injured
  • Backup center Sterling Lovelady decided to give up football to focus on academics
  • Jalen Ramsey will be the primary nickel back replacing Lamarcus Joyner
  • Reggie Northrup and Marcus Eligwe appear to be battling for the starting linebacker spot next to Terrance Smith

Fall Camp Week 1 Recap

In this episode of The Renegade Report, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the first week of fall camp.

As fall camp opened on Tuesday, the first thing we noticed was the size and physical development of this team.  Coach Viloria, his staff and the players really worked hard this summer.

Injuries on the offensive line have thinned out an already thin unit.  Fortunately, the starters avoided the most severe of those injuries.

Several players were interviewed this week and the highlights include:  Jacobbi McDaniel will be playing some fullback.  Georgio Newberry says he has natural hands and Karlos Williams mentions the “Jack” linebacker; which confirms we’ll be seeing some 3 man fronts from the defense this season.

The week concluded with media day and Jameis Winston stole the show with his interview and personality.
